Consumption of electricity

Reduce your consumption of electricity

- Think of putting the electronic devices (TV, video, radio, Hi-Fi, etc) out of tension instead of leaving them in stand-by. Also avoid leaving them under operation when you do not pay attention to them. The figures shown in the following table speak about themselves:
Apparatuses / Sleep mode (in W) / Daily time (in hours) / Annual consumption (in kWh)
TV / 8 to 22 / 18 / 53 to 145
Video / 4 to 30 / 23 / 34 to 252
HiFi / 0 to 33 / 23 / 0 to 277
So pay attention to this potential economy of 87 kWh (approximately CHF. 13. --) to 674 kWh (approximately CHF. 100. --)

- Turn off the household appliances directly after their use

- Use bulbs with low consumption for the parts where lighting is frequently and durably necessary. Avoid the traditional incandescent lamps and the halogen ones, because their output is only about 5 to 10%.

- At the time of purchasing, think to the apparatuses of category A or B, because it is possible to reduce the invoice of electricity by more than 40%

- The computer systems are also large-scale consumers. It is thus recommended to activate their energy saving system (Energy Star for example)
